As 2025 draws to a close, let’s take a quick past year review on the top five hits of tech in India.
And let me know what you think.
Made in India chips – starting with Vikram
For me this is easily the greatest tech trend from India in 2025. And it’s a trend because it started with Vikram and will lead to more since foundries in Dholera and other parts of India are underway.

It’s important to note that the timing of this launch was immaculate – it came right after some attempted bullying by the US President with tariffs and H1B via mischief, and after this launch the Trump-eter seemed to leave India alone.
Made in India Chats – Arattai
Yes, it exploded on the scene and the hype died down, but it’s still operational and rolling out updates. And it’s fun to use. We will now see a more steady adoption curve.

Money in India: Tech IPO Scene
No one does a better job of explaining the new age tech IPO scene than Inc42. Read here.
Data in India: Data Centre Investments
Billions – literally billions are poured into new ground breaking investments to develop data centres – be it for AI or whatever. The biggest announced is Reliance’s 1GW Data Centre in Jamnagar.

Make in India: from iPhones to Electric Vehicles
New and expanded manufacturing operations announced by the likes of Apple, Samsung, Gigabyte, Vinfast, Honda, and almost all the biggest international tech companies we can think of.

There were a fair share of misses also, but a year or more from now when we look back at 2025 using our indigenous tech, we will be grateful for these moments.
Until then, wishing everyone all the very best for 2026! Share this post with a friend and ask them if they agree.
