I’ll admit, this week I was distracted primarily by the public spat between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Not that I care about American politics, but I love, LOVE the memes that come out of them.
And here’s one that I made – a very simple one. Presenting, Elon Trump:

Okay sorry. Now onto this week’s roundup of tech news that matters:
- Starlink obtains a license to launch commercial operations in India from the Telecom ministry, although it still has a long way to go before it can offer its satcom services to Indians.
- Apple further expands its partnership with Tata in India. Now, after-sales repair of iPhones and MacBooks in India will be handled by Tata.
- Apple is set to open its fourth store in India, which will also be its second store in Mumbai.
- OpenAI has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government’s IndiaAI Mission to launch the OpenAI Academy in India. This week, Open AI also extended its global AI for Impact Accelerator Program to India, marking the next phase of its initiative under the OpenAI Academy umbrella.
- The State of Andhra Pradesh and Nvidia signed an agreement to jointly advance the establishment of a proposed Artificial Intelligence (AI) university in the state and foster a robust ecosystem through skilling, research, infrastructure development, and startup acceleration.
- German automation technology global leader Festo inaugurates its ₹500cr manufacturing facility in Hosur. the plant will focus on the production of advanced pneumatic automation components.
- Flipkart becomes the first major e-commerce player in India to obtain an NBFC license from RBI, which mean sit can extend credit to consumers without needing to go through third parties.
