This is the most relevant tech news from India in the last seven days (except for one below that goes a little further) with the reasons why they matter to Indians.
Trump and Modi setup US-India TRUST Initiative for emerging technologies:

During a meeting between PM Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, the two nations launched the US-India TRUST initiative to enhance cooperation in AI, semiconductors, quantum tech, and space exploration. Key projects include building AI infrastructure in India and advancing space collaboration with NASA and ISRO.
Why this matters: The thing I love the most about this announcement is what TRUST is an acronym for – “Transforming the Relationship Utilizing Strategic Technology”. Love it. Anyway, this looks like more of a commitment that Indian and US companies will work together to make enhancements in these emerging technologies, rather than any real allocation of funds or other resources.

AWS and CtrlS invest heavily in Indian data centres

AWS invests $8.3b in a cloud infrastructure in Maharashtra by 2030, whereas CtrlS (an Indian data centre company) announces its fourth facility in Telangana – a 40-acre data centre near Hyderabad.
Why it matters: firstly, this is more than a week old, but it’s important (and I missed it in the previous weeks – sorry!) these are large investments into infrastructure that is required to advance most technologies, and it gives Indians a slight edge from a privacy and information security point of view that these data centres are located within India.

JioCinema and Disney + Hotstar merge to become JioStar which launces JioHotstar

Incredibly confusing headline I know. Anyway, this consolidated streaming service already has close to 3 lakh hours of entertainment, live sports coverage, and more than 50 crore users.
Why it matters: y’ll can maybe cancel your netflix subscriptions? And don’t forget about your Amazon Prime subscriptions that some of you forgot came with your Prime membership.
I just wish JioHotstar had a better logo. I mean, what’s with the asymmetric 7 pointed star with bevel and emboss that is what you put on graphics in PowerPoint? Does anyone know if this has any meaning?

Bose makes “Noise” in India
Premium US-based global audio components maker Bose buys a 2.4% stake in Indian wearables maker Noise. The Noise Master Buds is a truly-wireless earbuds tuned by Bose.
Why it matters: well unlike Apple or Samsung products that are made in India but are American brands, this is an Indian brand, made in India with its most important technology from an industry leader. Well done to Noise, once the company that would annoy us with 10,000 listings on Amazon now offers us a home-grown premium truly wireless earbuds. I would love to replace my Airpods Pro (which I love btw) with a premium home-grown (assuming it’s cheaper) earbuds. Check out the video below – they do look incredibly like AirPods Pro (will Apple sue for this?) and promise Spatial Audio and active noise cancelling.
Btw this is not a sponsored post in any way.
